If media comparison studies are not worth doing, what are useful directions in learning with media? I feel that there exists a number of useful directions for research in learning with media.

Media, indeed, do not influence learning. Students though, could take advantage of a particular medium’s characteristics to help construct knowledge (Kozma, 2012). Medium and method are part of the design of learning. Medium and method do maintain a relationship within design, with each affecting the other in accordance (Kozma, 2012).

Occurring with little or no conscious attention or effort, automaticity requires little working memory capacity, and it is described as “thoughtless” (Ormrod, 2012). In automaticity, controlled processes become increasingly automatic through repetition and practise (Ormrod, 2012).

As an early adopter of ebooks, I find the current trends and issues with using eBooks fascinating. I love any book I can get my hands on honestly, but I have to say, I just love my ebooks. Carrying around hundreds of books with me and being able to access them readily, is better than a security blanket.
